Community-Building CircleS
The ancient Art of
Circle is a transformative practice rooted in ancient traditions, designed to bring people together, encourage active listening, and break down barriers of vulnerability. Circle is one of the greatest empathy-building practices, cultivating compassion, belonging, and critical Human Skills like self-awareness, social awareness, and relationship-building. Circle provides a space where individuals and communities can forge deeper connections, establish healthy, positive social norms, and grow emotional intelligence together.
We believe Circle should be a weekly practice for everyone. Circle is undoubtedly the MOST IMPORTANT work we do, and building a sustainable Circle culture in your school is the key to long-lasting change. Our Circle visits immerse students and staff in this process, focusing on belonging, autonomy, and practicing essential life skills. We recommend weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly visits to ensure consistency and provide guidance from our Circle practitioners.
Focuses
Our primary work focuses on facilitating Circles with students K-12 to build a secure Circle culture and identify the strengths of the students in your community and the challenges your culture faces.
Students
Facilitating Circles with students and educators helps build intergenerational bonds and allows practice and contribution from educators as we model Circle facilitation with students.
Students & Educators
Our educators (America’s most important people) need a space to build bonds among their colleagues and create a more cohesive and supportive environment focused on improving mental health.
Educators / Staff
EVERYONE needs Circle, especially those responsible for guiding your school district. Applying a top-down approach is vital if you want to make long-lasting, sustainable changes in your school and community.
Admin / BOE
Separate from our Circles with educators focused on building your community, these after-school sessions are about building Circle facilitation skills and receiving tailored feedback.
After School education
Bringing Circle to groups like sports teams, drama clubs, and other special interests is guaranteed to enhance cohesion and forge stronger bonds around intergroups working toward a common goal.
